An Interview with Pastor Brian

1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A SECOND HOUSE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Anywhere that I could get the kids and grandkids to visit when we get older – Montana sounds nice!

2. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLES OF CLOTHING? Anything with lotsa pockets.

3. THE LAST CD YOU BOUGHT?  Gaither’s Bluegrass Gospel

4. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING? Preferably an hour before anyone else.  ‘Bout the only quiet time in the house.

5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE? Our counter-top grill.  Real handy for short-notice grilling.

6. IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Tried the acoustic guitar – hated the sore fingers.  Love the fiddle/ violin but I don’t have a clue how to make mine sing – it only squawks.

7. FAVORITE COLOR? Autumn paisley.  Is that what you would call the color of the trees just before they drop their leaves?

8. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON? Autumn.  The first really crisp morning in mid-November.  Everything is once again right with the world!

9. IF YOU HAVE A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT? Nope.  Thought about a cross on my shoulder one time, but not for very long.

10. CAN YOU JUGGLE? Depends on how fast I’m walking.  Oh, jUggle.

11. ONE PERSON/PEOPLE FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO? Mamaw – my mom’s mom.  She passed away when I was three.  The stories about her are really interesting.  She was full-blooded Cherokee.  She was raised in a teepee by her father.  I think about her often.

12. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DAY? New Year’s Day.  I have a tradition of starting off the new year by being out in the woods to see the sun rise.  It’s a time a thanksgiving for me.  I really look forward to it.

 13. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SUSHI OR HAMBURGER? I like sushi, but I love a real homemade hamburger!

14. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL? That’s an easy one.  Dry-rubbed venison steak cooked over a red oak campfire, accompanied by potatoes and onions fried in a cast iron skillet.  Nothing compares to that!

15. WHEN IS YOUR BIRTHDAY? Exactly one week after Independence Day.

16. WHAT AGE DO YOU PLAN TO RETIRE? Yeah – right!  Maybe if the brood is able to get full-paid scholarships.

17. WHEN/WHERE DID YOU MEET YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER? What is it about Bradford Road pastors picking up hot chicks in bars and then marrying them?  Guess that makes two of us.

18. IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE FOR VACATION, WHERE WOULD YOU GO? For a family vacation, it would be Disney World while the kids are young.  For a personal vacation, I would love to check out New Zealand.  Fantastic scenery and incredible outdoor adventures!
